    LANGUAGES: My native language is Spanish, but I am fluent
               in English, conversant in Italian and Portuguese,
               and competent in French.
     THE HOST: I teach Latin American literature at Haverford College,
               one of the top liberal arts colleges in the US.
               I am also a writer and musician. Artists of any type
               are particularly welcome in my home. Prospective guests
               should be reasonably independent, since my schedule
               is unfortunately rather hectic, even in the summertime.
               I will not discriminate on the basis of
               gender, race, national origin or any other criterion.

               Haverford is a beautiful, peaceful and bucolic place,
               particularly pleasant in the early summer or early fall.
