SEX/AGE: Male/33 (born in 1961)
ACCOMMODATION: I live in a house that can sleep 6 in beds (including
me). House is small so floor space is limited. There
is 1 bathroom.
LOCATION: Northeast, Briargate
MAX GUESTS: 4 (negotiable)
MAX LENGTH: 1 week (negotiable)
EXPENSES: Food, phone, any other non-trivial expense incurred
as a result of your visit
RESTRICTIONS: No smoking, no drugs, no wild/rowdy 'parties'
EXPECTATIONS: While I'm pretty tolerant and easy going, I'd expect
guests to be considerate and respectful of my
wishes -- nothing more than YOU'd expect from guests
in YOUR home. If you can't abide by my rules, I'll
suggest other accommodations.
PRIOR NOTICE: Ideally, 1 week's prior notice
LANGUAGES: English (native), French (elementary),
Italian (very elementary)
THE HOST: Professionally, I'm a software engineer for Digital
Equipment Corporation. I'm single and fairly active.
I enjoy ice skating/hockey, wind surfing, skiing
(snow and water), mountain biking, and just about
anything else that's not too 'passive.' I've done
a bungee jump, went rock climbing once, been white-
water rafting a time or two, and enjoy being an
Emergency Medical Technician just for 'fun.' I'll
do just about anything at least once! I'm a
generally quiet, low-key type of person and usually
very easy to get along with. I like just
about all kinds of music (except loud, heavy-metal,
head-banging rock and roll). I don't particularly
enjoy hanging out in bars and similar 'clubs' (but
would consider myself a social drinker). I don't
smoke. My favorite cuisine is Italian, but I enjoy
many others. I usually enjoy kids (unless they're
terribly ill-mannered and misbehaved).
I'd be happy to do what I can to make your visit
more enjoyable. I know most of the tourist spots in
the area if that interests you. I live an hour away
from Denver and about 2-3 hours from (snow) skiing.
I was born and grew up in Indiana (as part of a
large family) and have lived in
Colorado since 1988. I've also lived in Ohio and
New Hampshire. I have Bachelor and Master of Science
degrees in computer science from Purdue University
and Northeastern University, respectively.
OTHER: I have 2 indoor female cats that are generally shy
around strangers. However, they might become friendly
if you stay long enough. I will NOT tolerate any
purposeful abuse of them by anyone.
One reason I'm interested in participating in HOSPEX
is that I plan to spend some time in Europe in the
near future, and I'd like to spend time with the
natives while I'm there (rather than in hotels and
on 'packaged tours').
Feel free to e-mail me with questions, for advice,
with suggestions, or just to chat.
